Blog Under Three Pronged Attack

August 27, 2010

This comment came in, from “Aol Mole”:

I am a teacher in AOL and work in Sumeru. Just on the fringes not able to leave as I am financially dependent on AOL.
Just to let the blog owners know here. Sri Sri has directed a three pronged attack on this blog last week. He has said that this will silence the critics forever. This attack has been planned for last two weeks by Sri Sri inner circle with many teleconferences and personal meetings.

The three pronged attack on critics:

Brahma-Vishnu-Shiva

Brahma – Ajay is incharge of this. Create testimonials blog. highlight only positives. no outlandish miracles to be showcased but just stress redution of successful and happy people. put photos to shame annonymous bloggers. good proof reading. form team of editors for Ajay’s blog.

Vishnu – Batliwala is incharge of this role. This role shoud enable to bring order through the fear of law. batliwala to send notices to blog owners for copyright infringement and defamation. create fear in the people who write and comment on this blog. Kriya and teachings secret to be protected at all costs. As it is lifeline of AOL.

Shiva – Swami Sadyojatha to start ripping apart the critics and finishing them. label the critics mentally unstable. start naming some ex teachers from Europe and two women in India. Do not focus on too many ex-teachers from India. as India is a base and that needs to be protected. Target women teachers as they are more hysterical. Create web seva warriors to attack all blogs and protect wikipedia entries etc. The mantra is ‘har har mahadev’.

This three pronged attack was commined to start on the auspicious day monday Aug 23rd.

I will send more details later.

I have of course no way of knowing whether this is true, or just another intimidation attack. It seems plausible, though, as one testimonial blog has already popped up (Brahma), we have been served a notice (Vishnu) and Swami Sadyojatha is having fun on this blog, “ripping us apart” (Shiva). I don’t know the poor woman being grossly defamed by the alleged swami. Her name does ring a bell, though. Didn’t she single-handedly open up several countries to AOL, teaching thousands of people? That certainly doesn’t sound like a woman crippled by mental disease. Or maybe the allegations by the swami are completely fabricated? I certatinly can’t recognize myself, either. I need your help, swami, to tell me which one of the critics I am!

We did have to remove the Kriya notes from this site. Read the proceedings here. And four more pages have been closed down by WordPress, on request by AOL:

3 Days Structure for part 1 course,

Breath Water Sound Manual

Teacher Training Guide phase 1

YES!+ Teacher’s Notes

Am I trembling in fear? Not really. I do, however, anticipate more attacks, and who knows if they will succeed? So if you guys out there sympathize with and benefit from this blog, write in your suggestions. What is the best course of action now?

Personally, I am much in favor of dialogue. If we could just talk about things in a civilized manner… But then, we were never allowed that in AOL, were we? Too many dogmas, too many taboos. Ravi created this atmosphere of suppressed thought. And in that action, he created…us. If only he could see that! But no, he insists on claiming enlightenment, striking down hard on any criticism of himself and his org, even the most documented, balanced and sensible kind. (I admit, we are not always like that!)

If this blog has a malicious intent, then why do we post all comments, including the ones that scold us, taunt and threaten us? Why do we link to pro-aol sites?

If the Art of Living really claims to be open to criticism, why can you not find a single critical comment on any of the pro-aol sites? Why are they deliberately omitted? I tried several times to comment, trying to start some debate. They were never accepted.

It still pains me, today, to think about the good things in AOL, and how it got polluted by one man’s hunger for power, fame and devotion. Authoritarian power abuse at its worst: Read this book if you haven’t already.

And oh, yeah: tjeck out this link: www.beyondtheaol.com. Pretty neat, uh? Guess what happens, if they close down this wordpress blog?

First thing I would suggest is keep all bloggers/posters personal infomation/identity safe. Do not post any of those in any place. In numerous instances ex-aolites commented that ‘AOL’ sends goondas when someone leaves. They don’t like dialogue rather ‘Danda’ (force).

What is a goonda? A mafia goon? There is a band by that name.
Or, at least, that is what comes up when you google it.So they send a band to those who leave? How does that work?

Oh come one!!! If the cause is true then hiding behind alias names is not required… Osama would require to hide his identity if he went somewhere, but do you think Mahatma Gandhi ever did??

Maybe you think you are fighting for some objective/cause- but if you cannot do with your name on it, there is something missing… becasue if you’re hiding behind a different identity , it means you’re wrong.

Don’t think this blog is for lackeys – they just know most of it are true but stay there for their own reasons. It is for people who seek alternative point of view and try to make sense their experience with what is said here. You lackeys have nothing to worry whatever said here is not true, since you guys are worried so much clearly gives the proof.

    Skywalker,

My suggestion, and of some friends I spoke to about your plight with possibly losing the right to even speak out on-line —

    GO TO THE INDIAN PRESS
GO TO THE BANGALORE PRESS CLUB
SEND THE ENTIRETY OF THIS BLOG’S CONTENTS, IN HARD COPY, TO MULTIPLE REPORTERS AT DECCAN HERALD, TIMES OF INDIA, HINDUSTAN TIMES, ETC.

For a listing of Indian newspapers just google Indian newspapers and you will get sites listing names and ways to contact.

Yes, lots of it will fall on deaf, brainwashed ears. But someone out there who is a real journalist, with a rational mind, would love to sink their teeth into this one, I’d bet.

The press is your only hope at this point, as this blogspot may not be long for this world, just as Klim’s is now disabled because of the goondas of AOL.

If you really want to pursue the exposure of misuse of donation money, go to educated reporters.

Skywalker, well said and well done!
AoL started a miserable hunt, guessing and randomly accusing innocent people. “Rip and finish them”? Is that how Ravishankar plans to win the Nobel PEACE prize? Wake up AoLers! If this is how they treat their former teachers … it could happen to you too! The person they defamed with name is someone who started many countries and was one of the most active and productive teachers of my times, Ravishankar many times cited as an example. I even remember she taught the first course at MIT and brought so many people to the AoL during the years. We looked up to her. I bet the emails they placed were not even consulted. They could file legal action if they wanted. Most of what they said about her are twisted awful lies, even about her parents! The family also should file legal action against the organization! The AoL has gone too low. Let’s notice this is how they treat teachers who have served them with dedication and for free. Back then I already head lies about her. Power struggle and envy are cruel. In any case, let’s put this in perspective. If in any case it was true she was bipolar, who is the irresponsible person who let her do the SK to begin with? Of what I remember, it was very much the way around. They really wanted her to become a teacher! Sad Ravi, very sad you have gone this low! And in any case, some great people were bipolar, like Florence of Nightingale, Saint Ignatius of Loyola, Van Gogh, Hemingway, Virginia Wolf, Edgard Allan Poe, etc. If it is even true she is behind this blog, I applaud her for the courage. Her writing is good and does not show signs of any imbalance but rather of intelligence and coherence. This person and her family have been brutally defamed with too many lies. They should be thanking her for all that she gave the AoL. It will be interesting to see how this explodes in their face. What are they so afraid of?

All your kriya stuff is achievable by mere working out for 20 minutes outdoors. I guess, entire AOL is built upon the inability or laziness of people to find time for exercising and a little play time.
Exaggeration works for non-experienced people. People who have experienced both exercise and / or the benefits of SK can distinctly tell that – both bring the same benefits or even more with exercising. @Amit Sharma: Guerrilla warfare is required to fight bigger organizations/companies/countries.
Hiding identity on blogs is one of the strategies. It is obvious that AOL wants us drop our shield by revealing identity. What else would do expect them to say :))
I am sure we’ll organically come up with more strategies to beat a bigger larger opponent.
It is alright to believe in AOL’s cause. All I request you is to not be fanatical and go over all the posts that are anti-AOL. See for yourself if there is any truth in it. If you find no truth, you are welcome to continue on with AOL. But please don’t be a blind follower..

And the rest of us will have to support you by making those clicks. So that way, some funds are at your disposal should you need to take some legal action.(Also, speak with Jody, his advice on how to handle threats, as he got a few but did not relent.) The number of supporters of this blog, someone could have some easy access to legal opinion, so let us now network among ourselves to render support. Legal advice from the U.S, India etc as the people supporting this blog are from the world over. Keep the testimonials coming in. And if MOLE is reading this, and is authentic, exercise caution as now those guys know you are a teacher working with Sumeru. They could float a few rumors, which if it spills would point to you.

@anonymous – I can access KLIM’s blog perfectly well from where I live, what do you mean by it’s blocked?

@FreedomFighter – spot on! What I’ve noticed is that each time someone from AoL tries to make any attempt whatsoever to answer allegations, defend SriSri/AoL or defame the bloggers, it completely explodes in their faces and ends up strengthening the arguments that the bloggers are making. It’s truly incredible, and only now that you come to mention “what you resist persists” do we see that real power of this principle in action!

@Amit Sharma – I have no hatred and bare no grudge towards Sri Sri, AoL, or any one posting on this or any other blog. In time I will post my own experiences, but for now please use your intellect and read as much as is contained in these blogs as you can and then make your own decision. I was very much in AoL before I discovered these blogs, and after reading through them a great many things that were said echoed with many things which I myself have experienced over time and which I had just “swept under the carpet”.

I care not that the writers don’t reveal their names, it is the content of what they are saying that is truly revealing. If you have read everything like I have, you may eventually come to similar conclusions. But read them objectively, if you can!

2 Show people that AOL works the way shown in excellent video- mind control cults available on you tube

4 Inform people that so called spiritual pseudo growth is at the cost of losing critical thinking and reasoning
5 Make people aware about financial irregularities and cheating people by taking heavy fee as donation
6 Inform people that their projects and services are an eye wash to overshadow the bad part.

    Dear SkyWalker,

You say here that you encourage free speech. What is the value of free speech where there is no openness to listen? We can each keep speaking to deaf ears forever and then a little longer. No, my friend. Neither of us is here to listen to the other’s point of view. We are just here to make our own points, press our own cases, and pretend to be proponents of free speech and open to ideas. This,of course, does not mean either of us is bad. It just means that our positions are so radically different that it is better for both of us to keep a little distance away from each other on the subject of Sri Sri and AOL.

You said in your introductory post to this blog “The ones who do get brainwashed, however, have nowhere to go for support and help, once their inner conflict compels them to leave aol. They certainly do risk permanent damage, if they don’t receive counselling of some sort. Those are the people I write to, and you can do the same”

What hurts me and caused me to enter into the blog is when I see links of this blog appearing in closed AOL groups; and in several places where positive news of Sri Sri appears. These are not the places that people who have been “compelled to leave AOL” visit.

If this is a place for healing of people, there are ways of letting such people find you, and you know them as well as (or perhaps far better than) I do. If this is a place to critique the Art Of Living, critique it by all means, but why intrude on the private spaces where people who are happy with Sri Sri and AOL get together and interact?

Both of us are rational enough to know that there is Pro-AOL and there is Con-AOL in this blog, and no amount of discussion, dialogue or free speech is going to make these poles meet.

You keep your space as Con-AOL, and permit the Pro-AOL group to keep their space. And just as if a Pro-AOL person turns Con-AOL you would welcome him into this group, so when a con-AOL person turns Pro-AOL, he will be welcomed back there.

I have said it earlier, I say it again. I have no agenda, I am no PR lackey. I am not here to praise Sri Sri, nor am I here to criticize you. I am just a normal guy airing his views and thoughts aloud.

I am hoping against hope that the number of rational responses outweighs the number of rants.

Not sure what you want Skywalker to do if a link to this blog is added to AOL internal sites or closed AOL groups. Those sites/groups are controlled by AOL, aren’t they? Skywalker is not adding those links.

      • August 27, 2010 7:58 pm

It simply means that there are what you call “Moles” on which this original post is also based.

And though I address my comment to SkyWalker as the owner of this blog, it applies to all of the contributors who are in the Con-AOL faction.

My question is simple – Why be a mole? Why play on both sides of the fence? Why be on the con-AOL side of the fence and pretend to be pro-AOL? It is these people who create the problem. How much of this purported three-pronged strategy is authentic? Who is to tell? Each one of us can guess, yet no one will really KNOW. And yet, a whole host of judgements get made on basis of this so-called mole’s inside information.

If I created a pro-AOL blog tomorrow, called myself an AOLFree Mole and said I had inside information that Skywalker and WhistleBlower are actually getting paid to do this blog, I bet there would be a bunch of people there who would think that is true, too. Who does it help? The people who come for healing and for inspiration? I bet it doesn’t.

My contention is simple – your experience causes you to be con-AOL. I have no argument with that. By all means, get together with like-minded people and criticize AOL or share your negative experiences. To that extent, I too welcome free speech.

But when these moles come into closed AOL groups, or when they actively look to publicise this blog wherever Sri Sri’s positive views are being aired, or when they claim to have some highly privileged inside information, then it is not called free speech. It is called stepping on the toes. Like my grandma used to say “Feel free to punch the air, but don’t touch my face when you do that!”

I ask Skywalker – why harbor and encourage people here who are moles? And indeed glorify them by making them the subject of posts? Is your objective to create a platform where pro-AOL and con-AOL come and shout nasties at each other? Because let’s face it – what happens between the pro-AOL and con-AOL factions (aside of a couple of posts here and there) is not rational discussion. Because we are just too far apart in our belief systems. And the subject is too close emotionally to both to permit any extended rational or logical discussion.

Do your Search Engine Optimizations, let people find you and read what you have to tell them. Publicize your blog through all normal means available on the Internet. But don’t encourage the moles which cause the con-AOL world to infringe their ideas and opinions on the pro-AOL world. It is not good for either side.

You create your own space on the Internet, and let the pro-AOL world create its own space. It can be a delicate balance. People who play in both these places cause this balance to break. Actively discourage them.

        Does that clarify, John?

While I do agree our views/positions are so radically different but more you read this blog and KLIM’s blog and introspect yourself and compare your experience with posters here then you will more likely to understand what is going on in AOL world. However if you are one of the PR lackey then you already know whatever said in this blog is true but you are just trying to protect your/your master’s investments.

What I understand from your comments are : “stay out of our way, don’t bother our business… we don’t bother you…” is that sums it up?

I have yet to see any link of this blog (or Klim’s blog) in a closed pro-AOL group. They are all systematically edited.

This blog publishes responses from pro AOL guys, but show me one critical post which Mr. Bawa “allows” to be posted.

AOL basically is undemocratic. “Guruji said so” is the key mantra. “Guruji’s Aadesh (order) is to be upheld”

In a AOL meeting there was a discussion about initiating a signature campaign for stopping non-veg food on Indian flights and trains. Reason: Guruji said so.

I mean, I saw well meaning guys there discussing how to go about signature campaign and nobody was questioning the appalling stupidity of this idea. I mean you will take away basic rights of people …….why…….GURUJI SAID SO………….hmmmmph……

If you reason, seek clarifications…..bingo ………….do Bhastrika……..Prana level will increase.

Don’t be stupid – this blog is obviously con-aol. We are welcome to post pro-aol views – people here love to debate and dialogue.

Regarding being called a lackey – well 1. This is the nature of the blogosphere – grow a thick skin already. 2. Generally, pro-aol people say the same thing. Every few days there is a new person, and they just say the same thing. Their arguments are the same – and have been refuted time and time again.

For example all AOL apologists says that records of AOL are on guidestar and for all to see. But that’s not the case – it’s only AOL-US. VVM. which is the main beneficiary of course funds is not audited, nor are the records public. Same is true of Rural schools, and Care for children – all we get are propaganda numbers. Not a list of schools and number of children that are enrolled. In short, nothing that can be independently verified – AOL websites are not reference.

This pattern repeats over and over again – just propaganda numbers no hard data to back up outlandish claims. Why do you expect everyone to be true believers ? What is so wrong about asking a guru to back up his claims with data ?

The answer is obvious – there are lots of fishy things going on in AOL, which they have no way of defending. It’s more convenient to label people as negative, mentally disturbed, low prana, doubting thomas, judas than to act responsibly and actually hold oneself accountable.

    Hello Beacon of Reason

    Look at the following scenario

    1. Many AOL teachers work in environments where there is no openness for practicing your faith. The Islamic countries in the Middle East are like that. Since most teachers are employed full time elsewhere and subscribe to AOL on their personal time. However, for most of them this personal time spills well into office time, they use office infrastructure (computers, copiers, email ids, halls) to promote AOL to colleagues and friends. Many have been doing this for decades. All this from the goodness of their hearts wanting to be a part of something good (larger then oneself). BTW I am given to understand that the Middle East is one of the largest revenue spinners for AOL.

    2. As a committed participant for many years (that is after having converted your immediate family, friends circle, colleagues and so on to being active believers. Meanwhile, you have invested many summers and many advance courses and done much fund raising for your favourite cause ), AND now you suddenly find the blog and other related information that is grossly unsettling to say the least. Put yourself in that position. A little bit of a leak and you could be deported from your work country. What would you do ?. Most people get seriously fried with this internal conflict.

    3. For many, the reasons for not revealing identity is not that SSRS or the Ashram would be vindictive. Its the situation they find themselves in. You could be very sadly and badly judged by your own immediate circle of friends and family.

    4. Especially, there are many things that you said in the past to your colleagues, for eg.. about the money and now you find that you have no way of proving any of the statements that you made. This is the thing that is least subjective. One can always follow the money trail. In such instances for many AOL volunteer office bearers this could have other strong implications (I am talking criminal/legal). Now what would you do ? Many in such a position will not even have a clue where to go to. They were just good hearted regular people with regular lives that volunteered their services to administer accounts, to fund raise, to organise events and so on. Many of them are even clueless to the laws of the land when they volunteered. In many countries, when you are employed as an expat and have a labour permit, you are not allowed to seek alternative employment or pursue other businesses unless legally sanctioned by the labour ministry. Yet because of the fact that AOL is seemingly for a good cause most folks tend to take this risk albeit quietly, since its a voluntary activity and you don’t leave too much of a trail. However, when you start having doubts about whether the money is really going to where it is supposed to go, then your enthusiasm and fire dies down. A fired up volunteer is the vehicle for AOL’s expansion. Allowing freedom of expression as is in this blog will kill a fired up volunteer. This is what AOL is most worried about.

    5. If I were calling the shots at AOL, then to shut naturally a lot of such con-AOL talk ….what I would do is come clean about the money. However, AOL has not had this practice for almost 30 years. There is too much water under the bridge. Is it too late in the case of AOL ?? This I cannot answer.

    6. After having been a regular, passionate contributor to the cause for many moons, now suddenly if you have such startling doubts about the organisation that you volunteered for what can you do ? If your current/future employer gets to know that you are a part of a potentially fraudulent organisation !!!, your future is now at stake. Most people in this position tend to wish that the problem will somehow go away and they hide. They delay and delay and delay the personal choices they have to make….until one day the choice will be made for them. (This is what happened to the Nithyanand movement, Kalki and so on). Its not going to go away beacon of reason, its a cancer…its going to get you…unless you “get it” first.

Dear beaconofreason, what sort of reasoning is this?

Crooks and honest people both live in this world. Your solution is to live and let live both of them. No one needs to expose the other. “If you are warm and happy in a pile of shit, keep shut.” Is that what you want to say?

————————-Response to Article 1 and Article 2————————-
“Pen in the hand of Swami Sadyojathah is like a matchstick in the hands
    of a Monkey.”

I am a devotee and not in to blogs. Recently,” If you are a Swami and a victim,
remain silent”, by Swami Sadhyojathah , Director of international affairs, AOL, caught my
    attention .
The timing of the article is quite counterproductive. Instead of speaking against the
unacceptable and criminal behavior of some crooks in the garb of swamis( Despite the fact that Guru Ji has spoken up against such crooked swamis) this author comes across to be defending these “exposed crooks.” and losing credibility with the public, already badly hurt by these wolves in sheep’s skin.
This article is supporting the twisted concept that even though swamis are funded by public
funds/charity, Swamis are above the law, law of Karma, above public accountability and public has no right to complain, as if they have a license to cheat and rape your wives, daughters and sisters. A prudent author would have applauding the media for doing their job well by serving the public and exposing the crooks and would have won public support by being on the right side of truth.

Timing of his June article seemed very effective in inviting all the angry stone throwers who were busy targeting Swami Nithyananda for sexual abuses at that time, to divert their anger
towards AOL. His article seemed to be attacking the victims of Swami Nithyananda and
defending the errant swamis (opposite to honorable position taken by Sri Sri)1.

Now, again Swami Sadhyojathah’s latest attack article 2 is not only giving these blogs and
bloggers undue attention and credence but exposing AOL with defamation lawsuits all over the world. Swami Sadhyojathah may not know that attorney fees alone in defending defamation lawsuit sometimes exceed million dollars. He is further exposing AOL for divulging protected medical information of individuals. His writing could invite injunction from courts against AOL against seeking medical information through AOL application forms for courses.
Swami Sadhyojathah’s attacks on bloggers and former AOL teachers are discrediting good AOL teachers all over the world by suggesting that even crazy people are accepted to become AOL teachers.
Swami Sadhyojathah’s writings seem to discredit other AOL swamis. His writings seem to
expose him more like an “extremist” or “Jihadi” than a swami, through his attacks and repeatedly adopting extremes in his own life( either a Communist or a Swami, no middle ground). This writing style behooves more to an extremist than a Swami and appears closer to low class than any “royal background”, claimed by him.
Swami Sadhyojathah seems to be more dangerous with a pen than any extremist with a bomb. If his pen is not confiscated fast by Guru Ji, his writings are likely to flood AOL with lawsuits, millions of dollars in legal fees, jury awards, court injunctions and other penalties for violating medical information and other laws of various jurisdictions.

A word to the wise, Swami Sadhyojathah has the potential of doing more damage to AOL than a monkey with a matchstick can do to a forest and may end up burning down the “barn”.

    Article 2:
If you are a Swami and a victim, remain silent!
    – Swami Sadyojathah
    Jun 10, 2010, 01.50pm IST

I think 30 years of selfless service has not attracted the eye of our media as much as a bullet. Ironically,
the victim had to justify why the bullet was found close to him!

A Swami is expected to remain silent irrespective of the seriousness of offence against him whereas strong voices of support are heard for terrorists and anti-social elements. Corrupt officials are not condemned and the society’s silence implies it is fine with them.

‘Swami’, a title much revered in India in the past only raises eyebrows in suspicion now. Swamis and Sadhus were respected for dedicating and sacrificing their lives for society and now they are being condemned. This shows the unfortunate deterioration of the Indian culture. Is it not a systematic psychological warfare against Swamis?

We also see a section of the media in our country jumping to hasty conclusions especially in matters concerning swamis and spirituality.

‘You have the right to remain silent…’ is usually a warning given to a suspected criminal under arrest. However, paradoxically if you are a Swami or a Guru, you are advised to remain silent even if you are a victim. In spite of being a victim, you are perceived to have done something wrong. The overwhelming undercurrent of prejudice against Hindu swamis and Gurus cannot be underlined enough.

How strange that a culprit can walk away, but the victim is doubted, questioned, harassed and expected to prove his innocence! The Indian Constitution holds that you are innocent until proven guilty, but a swami is necessarily guilty until proven innocent.

This has been the way of the world, which has always demanded from the living legends to prove their innocence. Be it Kabir or Jesus or even Mahatma Gandhi who was called a fraud a number of times. The degradation of society is measured by its attitude towards its spiritual leaders. Is it not Kaliyuga where the onus is on the victim to prove that he is not guilty?

Usually a victim is encouraged to speak up. But if you are a swami, you are counseled to forever hold your peace, even if you are surrounded by white lies.

The other thing isthat it does not pay off in the worldly sense to keep calm and live in knowledge because the gap between the real world and a meditator’s world is far too much. A layman may not understand the world of yogis, where they remain poised, calm and there is not an iota of worry or concern in their expression, even in extenuating circumstances. This is baffling to the common man or in this case of gun shot the investigating cops.

Recently, I was at a function in Vigyan Bhavan in Delhi, where I observed the sheer reluctance of people in interacting with a Swami in saffron robes sitting in the front row of the audience. This was immediately after the scandals of some so-called swamis had hit the headlines in the media. Nobody wanted to look at him, let alone talk to him, as if he were an untouchable. It was appalling to see the prejudice against Hindu swamis. In a way it was beneficial to the swami because he need not care what the world thinks of him,
but for an onlooker it looked odd how people were overtly prejudiced.

In Bollywood, in the last 15 to 20 years, since Dawood Ibrahim ostensibly started funding the film industry, a man with a tilak or in saffron robes has been systematically depicted as a villain or part of villain’s team. This portrayal has only added a mass prejudice and overwhelming bias against the swamis of India.

The two main allegations against swamis are sex and money. A true swami will never fall prey to fleeting attractions of sensual pleasures. Without adequate investigation, this kind of blanket generalization is unfortunate and highly deplorable. Every spiritual organization is supposed to do charity and one cannot do charity with an empty bowl. There is no point in taking charity and doing charity. Earning money is not a crime but doing so in a wrong way definitely is.

The idea that all spiritual education should be free, or the notion that spiritual training was free in ancient India is a fallacy. Spirituality is also an education and all education needs to be paid for. Those who know their history know that people in Vedic times had to “invest” far more to get a spiritual education than we do today! The concept of ”Dakshina” is from the ancient Vedic times.

The vow of poverty is a concept alien to our land. Here, the primordial Guru, Lord Narayana is wedded to Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth. Material progress goes hand in hand with spiritual growth. There are some pseudo intellectuals and historians who argue that only Ramana Maharishi and Mahatma Gandhi were genuine. They praise only the dead and abuse the living. One historian while condemning the appearance of spiritual masters in media went to the extent of saying that Sri Aurobindo never appeared on television, forgetting that there was no television at that time in the first place! Going by the fact that Sri Aurobindo had used the print media so well, I am sure he would have done the same with television had it existed then.

Another much-misplaced conception is that a true spiritual person should remain poor and that Gandhi never associated with the rich. They conveniently forget that Mahatma Gandhi has lived and died in Birla House, one of the most affluent people of that time.

Of course, every field will have people who are not genuine. However, that doesn’t warrant every one being painted with the same brush. It is as foolish as saying that because you unearthed a quack one day, we should shun all doctors.

It was Pandit Nehru who said in the assembly debates, “If I was asked what is the greatest treasure which India possesses and what is her finest heritage, I would answer unhesitatingly—it is the Sanskrit language and literature, and all that it contains. This is a magnificent inheritance, and so long as this endures and influences the life of our people, so long the basic genius of India will continue”.

It was Babasaheb Ambedkar who had proposed Sanskrit as the first language of India and who had great reverence for sadhus of this country, Kabir being his most favorite. It was Mahatma Gandhi who would read the Bhagawat Gita every day and meditate and do satsang with people from all religions.

The father of our nation is a saint. The architect of the Indian constitution, our first Prime Minister and countless others have sung praises of the spiritual knowledge of our saints. Then, I do believe, a sensitive and responsible Indian should take a proactive role in reinstating these values and arrest the prejudice drive against the swamis and saints of this holy land.

Though at later point if some thing bad fall out because of this AOL/RS can claim that swami was a rogue element and they didn’t approve this (failures are yours, low prana), if some thing turns out to be good (if they were able to eliminate these anti aol blogs for example) then it is grace of God-incarnate they were able to bring knowledge to even the bad/crazy people.

    >>Recently, I was at a function in Vigyan Bhavan in Delhi, where I observed the sheer reluctance of people in interacting with a Swami in saffron robes sitting in the front row of the audience.

May be this swami was not a publicity whore like AOL swamis and wanted to attend the function simply as an audience. The fact that he was given to sit in the front row shows that he was accorded respect.

Despite numerous transgressions by crook swamis, saffron robes still command a respect in India. This is because of a long tradition of selfless and nameless dedication of countless swamis which cult like AOL are able to exploit to their advantage.

    >>The vow of poverty is a concept alien to our land.

This is really a news to me!

Hindu scriptures are full of glorification of poverty. All this so called swami has to do is to read Shankaracharya’s panchak which starts with “kaupeen vantah, khalu bhagyawantah” – meaning that those who have no possessions except their loin cloth are the truly blessed. In fact there is a lenghty discussion in Sannyas Prakriya about whether a sannyasi is allowed to retain even his loin cloth! The hardliner view says – no. A sannyasi should give up even his loin cloth and proceed toward North (meaning Himalayas)

    >>Here, the primordial Guru, Lord Narayana is wedded to Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth.

In Hinduism, there is no fixed dogma about who is the primordial guru. Anyway for a large number of Hindus, primordial guru is Lord Dakshinamurthy, who is a Shiva incarnate. Shiva is a renunciate.

This not to say that Lord Narayana is any less respected or less worshipped. This is to expose your subtle attempts to link spiritual knowledge with a life of luxury.

    >>Another much-misplaced conception is that a true spiritual person should remain poor…

This is not a misplaced conception. This is the truth.

Tulasidas in his Ramcharitmanas tells about the pollution brought by Kaliyuga :

“bahu daam sajaavahi dham jati. tapasi dhanwant daridra gruhi” .

Meaning that in Kaliyuga dharma will become so polluted that sannyasi-s will fill their ashrams with a life of luxury while householders will be poor.

    >>…and that Gandhi never associated with the rich. They conveniently forget that Mahatma Gandhi has lived and died in Birla House, one of the most affluent people of that time.

While many negative things can be said about Gandhi, financial impropriety is not one of them. He never created a foundation for his personal use and did not fill its coffers by offering, 5-day, part 1 , non-violence course at $$$ prices. He did not channel the money collected in the name of India’s freedom fight to his sister and brother-in-law and nephews and nieces. In fact his own son died in penury.

    >>It was Pandit Nehru who said in the assembly debates, “If I was asked what is the greatest treasure which India possesses and what is her finest heritage, I would answer unhesitatingly—it is the Sanskrit language …

So? What work has been done by AOL to promote Sanskrit language? With all their ill gotten money they could have easily established chairs for Sanskrit studies in a number of universities. Where are they? Sorry. Chanting “Jai Guru Dev” does not count adequate promotion of Sanskrit language.

Very true. We have a spiritual heritage to protect. Therefore all of us have to work toward exposing money grabbing publicity whore sadhus who are out to deceive the world in the name of spirituality. Please bless this small attempt on this blog.

Depression and bipolar disorders are considered “invisible disabilities” – even in private American schools.

So it’s more than bad taste, it’s betrayal of criminal proportions to make public a former follower’s illness especially as serious as Eng’s. If she is ill she needs help, not blamed for being sick. If she is bipolar it doesn’t mean her concerns and opinions are invalid. Bipolar is not mad or stupid. What is bad and worst than stupid is branding it that, and if this Royal Communist AOl Cultist fucking Swami has Ravishankar’s support in going after Eng then both of them confirm being assholes – point is you help the sick not go after them, if she is making invalid accusations because of an unstable mental state the world will see it, attacking her makes AOL and its cultists look petty, frightened little pigs who are afraid to be knocked out of living in the moment in their world devoid of defined ethics or morals.

Could not resist sharing. I saw this interesting article on DNA and this author has laid out the “anatomy of a Swami” as follows:

There comes a time in every man’s life when he contemplates a career change. I believe that time has arrived in my life.

Last week, as I sat down to take stock of my achievements as a journalist, I was struck by the fact that there weren’t any. I hadn’t done any earth-shattering piece of investigative journalism. No TV channel has ever invited me to pontificate on the Kashmir issue.

Nor has any party offered me a Rajya Sabha nomination or a crore. All these failures would have been bearable if I’d at least had an affair or two with attractive colleagues. But I do not have even the paltry consolation of an office romance.

The writing on the wall was blowing in the wind: I needed a career change.

But if I gave up my career in the media, what should I do with my life? The answer came to me at a meeting where I had dozed off and dreamt that I was watching Aastha channel.

My real calling in life, said the guruji who came on Aastha channel in my dream, was to serve humanity by becoming a spiritual guru. I don’t know how he addressed me specifically when he was on TV, but it was a dream, after all, and the point is he had spoken to me.

When I woke up, I gave it some thought. And sure enough, I realised I should have become a guru a long time ago. If only my career counsellor in school had suggested it.

What does a person need to become a spiritual guru? Three things.

The first requirement is a beard, though some follicularly challenged gurus manage without one. And growing a beard is one area of human endeavour in which I’ve excelled all my life, except, of course, when I was a baby — it would have embarrassed my parents had I sported a beard when no other baby had a beard.

But today, I can go from a Keanu Reeves to a Karl Marx in 24 hours flat, and what better way to put this genetic gift to use than as a Swamiji.

The second requirement is the ability to give gyan. I’ve been giving gyan all my life. I began in school, suggesting gently to teachers that exams are nothing but a manifestation of maya, and so students should be allowed to copy if it makes them happy. For this, I got a slap.

Displaying wisdom beyond my years, I turned the other cheek, and received an equal and opposite slap in the other direction. Nobody told me then that even Jesus was crucified for saying something similar, or I would have found my true vocation in life much earlier.

In college, I saved the souls of frustrated Romeos by reminding them that the beauty of the female form is a transient phenomenon.

Even Aishwarya Rai, I explained, was nothing more than a particular aggregation of fat and bone tissue that will develop wrinkles, decay, and survive on Botox before returning to dust. I’m told that I single-handedly averted at least three certain love-related suicides by sharing my unique understanding of life among less enlightened individuals.

Today, I offer free gyan to colleagues on how to attain self-realisation and bliss by dedicating all their waking hours to their employer. Giving gyan, clearly, is my biggest strength.

The third requirement, dear reader, is where you come in: marketing. To market myself successfully, I need a great name.

A quick survey revealed that there were two basic building blocks that go into the brand name of an Indian spiritual guru: the prefix ‘Sri’ and the suffix ‘ananda’. According to this formula, the most basic name would be ‘Sri Ananda’. But I googled it and found that it was already taken. Sri Sri Ananda was taken too. And believe it or not, so were Sri Anandananda and Sri Sri Anandananda.

Then a friend suggested I must use words that convey a sense of power if I wanted a potent, memorable name. After consulting my colleagues in marketing, I came up with two options.

The first one is Super Sri Mahalingamananda. The ‘Super’ is to distinguish my ‘Sri’ from all the ordinary ‘Sri’s that routinely get appended to the names of other gurus. It will communicate to the target audience that I am not the average Swamiji but a Super Swamiji.

The ‘maha’ is a direct execution of the ‘think big’ brief. In the Hindu tradition, the most potent symbol is that of the lingam or the phallus. Join ‘maha’ and ‘lingam’ and you get a combination that can beat the shit out of every other Swamiji name. I was amazed that in all these years no other male Swamiji had thought of calling himself Super Sri Mahalingamananda.

The second option, a slight variation of ‘Super Sri Mahalingamananda’, was suggested to me by a friend who works in a teleshopping channel. He tells me that in this age of copy cats, people need to get the message that I can give them all the gyan my rivals can offer, and then some extra gyan. So he says I should further nuance my name, to ‘Super Sri Ultra Guru Swami Mahalingamananda Baba Plus Plus’.

Now what you do is write to me at the email given below and tell me which one you prefer: the simple and straightforward Super Sri Mahalingamananda, or the more sophisticated Super Sri Ultra Guru Swami Mahalingamananda Baba Plus Plus.

If your choice coincides with that of the majority, you can sign up as my disciple without paying the registration fee. What’s more, you also win a free stay of three nights and four days at my ashram in California once it is built. This is an inaugural offer valid for 14 days only.

In the meantime, while I sort out my brand name and marketing strategy, I offer you my Blessings Tantrixx VXI,a powerful aid toenlightenment, prosperity, and improved performance in bed.

Devotee is right, sue the Swami for defamation in US and AOL will be bankrupted like KKK and Clan. Juries in US love to make examples out of frauds.
Follow your instinct, open up your brain. Use your common sense. Listen to your inner-conscience, and follow the Truth. Stand up, gather your dignity, self respect, come out of this trap, and escape from this fake and fraudulent cult scam of AOL.

AOL empasizes Guru Puja every year and courses are conducted to teach guru puja but SRI SRI is very silent about his own guru Maharishi. Does not this makes people question double standard?

Can you tell why a guru does not mention his own guru. It is only normal in Hindu spirituality to trace one’s lineage of Guru. This fact should question and wake people up too.

What about the rumors that Maharishi Mahesh Yogi strongly and publicly renounced SRI SRI and Sri Sri Stole Bangalore Ashram Land from his own guru and stole his guru’s disciplines too.
Is this true, any insight would be appreciated?

I think this blog has hit the bottom line of art of living. I went through the testimonial blog of aol, all the testimonials are from people who are employed and financially involved in the aol and its subsidiary organizations. If ajay was intelligent he should have used some lay persons to give testimonials and not people who have a direct financial vested intrest in AOL. He could have got many such people. Nithyananda people do this time and again. Looks like the brahma has turned out to be a bum.

I agree with Nirupama. Looks like this and the other blogs critical of AOL have really made a dent in their image and maybe their membership numbers too.

Why else will swami sadyojatha respond in such detail, and follow up with a second post? In the first post maybe AOL thought they had lots of counter-arguments, but swami’s second post is no less of a rant than those extreme posts on this blog.

He says “Such good work is not acceptable to terrorist organizations and they use these negative bloggers to gather some information and spread misinformation.”
Oh, so if anyone slightly disagrees or questions AOL they are automatically terrorists? Sounds like George Bush’s “you are either with us or with the terrorists” meaningless idiotic rants and swami sad is no better for a supposed swami and disciple of an enlightened master, who shoots his mouth without even attempting to look inwards and into possible problems in the organisation.

He says “Although we have known of these 5-6 people who are behind these blogs for a long time”
A sweeping assumption based on hot air and no facts, most likely because HHSSRS told swami so.

Then he says: “But, shortly thereafter, they contradicted their statement by saying the following: “This person has been singled out and the same will happen to the rest of the bloggers!!” They have also appealed to everyone to write good about “this person’’! First they said that they don’t know ‘this person’, then they said ‘this person has been singled out’ and now they say that ‘this person is good’. This is more than enough for any sane person to understand the mindset of these negative bloggers. Who is ‘disgruntled’?”
I think he has taken permanent leave of his brains, or what was left. Swamiji was the one who first mentioned Eng-An’s name. People on this blog responded to that. The logical sequence of events escapes his great brain? Oh I forget, these JGDs are not supposed to think, just blindly follow their god, right?

Then “It seems to be these bloggers who dwell on lies.”
It is Swami and the JGDs who dwell in a cult-induced stupor of blind faith and lack of logical reasoning.

And this: “When my response came, they asked me to declare how much money I have received till now from Guruji/The Art of Living. We are not those kind of people who sell their souls for mere currency notes.”
Oh, so if I can conjecture wildly like the JGD’s are doing, then Swami and the AOL top brass have so much money they can’t even count it all?

“It has become very clear that these negative bloggers have no better job to do other than trying to malign the Art of Living and the tremendous work being done by the organization with the inspiration from Guruji.”
If you’re blind, closed minded and sucked into the cult, that’s what you will think. This is what all cult leaders and blind followers think. I don’t know about the others on this blog and others, but I have had enough of the AOL nonsense and have been exploited enough (free labour, spend my own money and do “seva”), and this blog and others show me I am not alone and not a criminal for having questions or doubting the JGDs.

This latest post from swami sad clearly shows their cult attitude and complete abhorrence of any sort of doubt or question about the organisation or their cult leader. Classic definition of a cult.

Hi Swami Sadyojathah: I was having hard time believing that any one using the title “swami” was capable of spewing so much poison towards critics(who had served the AOL). Even Nazis had some shame. When I saw your video clip and heard your voice, it was no brainer why Guru Ji picked you for this low and dirty job. You look and sound more like a “gunda” than a swami and appear more like a small time thief than a “royal” to a lay person. Very befitting job for you. Guru Ji is very smart. Your writings are helping even devotees turn away. Wait, as soon as AOL is sued for defamation, you will be thrown out like a dog litter, to save AOL from liability, by your very smart master and some one will be ready to write articles discrediting you. Good luck when that happens.

Did this swami ever answer how much money he is getting from AoL? Why won’t he answer the question? Why is he so well-acquainted with the inner workings of terrorist organizations? Unless part of the so-called “3 pronged attack” by AoL is name-calling.. That group is getting sillier and sillier. To no longer be going to brain-washing sessions disguised as satsangs can only be considered a lucky escape and one gets to keep his money, too.

Oh Yeah, jokes apart but I agree and I think it is a better option to talk these things out…call a press conference if possible…I am telling you there is nothing like black magic…people in this living world can only affect others by physical or monetary violence…be sure you are safe and build a community here first…then if this organization has earned so much money…we should also learn all about its workings and what are the glitches that are weak–like for eg tax filing in India, check donations and money matters in all countries..political connections etc…also Tell americans that they pay 10 times more fees for the same course as Indians (how idiotic, 2 times I understand but 10 times??)…also, there is no regularity or consensus on teaching…teachers are immature and are on ego trip…they do not have any certificate to be proven as yoga teachers…who would believe these lunatics after say 10-20 years from now?? So finding the weak points of organization, its workings, its links and also the borrowed teaching material can be your MULTI-PRONGED attack…people can be fooled only to a certain extent and to a limit…its all about creating GROUP -ENERGY…mass action moves the planet..This whole thing needs HEARING, needs CONFRONTATION, needs TALKING, needs ANSWERS, needs RESPONSIBILITY, needs LIABILITY…MASSES want their MONEY BACK!!! SIMPLE!! ALSO, STOP THIS ORGANIZATION, complain to UN…but BEWARE…thats why AOL has targeted only RICH AFFLUENT and INFLUENTIAL people… Any Serious seeker would have serious problems with it after reading this blog…EITHER THIS BLOG IS DAWN OF NEW AWARENESS or IT IS A TEST OF SOMEONE”S FAITH and DEVOTION…I CAN’t RESIST temptation to visit it…IT WILL BE GREAT IN DECIDING MY SPIRITUAL PATH AND FOR MANY MORE TO COME>..even if it fails to do anything against AOL…lets also not forget ALL GOOD that we have received as a result of AOL…why were we there in the first place? ask this question and you would not be able to blame anyone else other than your own foolishness…But take your action and be done..do not leave God, Guru Principle and never lose faith in life, on nature, on something beyond intellect.

Oh Yes Yes Yes…AOL is a huge Cult..

We all believe the same thing and repeat it like robots..

    Keep telling each other that…

I see more uniformity and sheepishness in this mental midget anti-AOL group than I do in AOL…

Continue your brilliant writing…We are on your mind… Ha ha ha ha ha ha
